Baltimore Grand Prix, 2-4 September!

http://baltimoregrandprix.com/index.cfm

The Baltimore Grand Prix will be a spectacular three-day "festival of speed" in downtown Baltimore, taking place September 2-4, 2011. It will be part of the 2011 IZOD IndyCar Series schedule and the 2011 American Le Mans Series schedule. The weekend event will feature world-class motorsports competition from several racing series, culminating in Sunday's IZOD IndyCar Series race. In addition to the high-speed thrills of professional racing, a wide variety of entertainment and activities will be scheduled for people of all ages to create an exciting three days of speed and entertainment. The racetrack is a two-mile temporary street circuit in and around the Inner Harbor and Camden Yards, including sections of Russell Street, West Pratt Street from Paca Street to Light Street, along the Inner Harbor on Light Street, and up Conway towards the stadium. Although the race will be held on actual city streets, for one weekend this urban environment will be transformed into a world class racetrack with the best possible safety equipment and fan facilities.

Baltimore Grand Prix Pre-race Party!

We have an open invitiation to the Baltimore Grand Prix pre-race party in Washington DC on August 11th:

Hello Alfa Romeo Owners and Enthusiasts!

The Inaugural Baltimore Grand Prix is fast approaching and we want to invite you to a pre-race warm-up party in DC. As you know, the Grand Prix is an historic motorsports event for our area, and we have been extremely pleased with the fantastic support of the local sports car community for the weekend’s events. We continue to seek your input and support in making this event one of the best on the ALMS and IndyCar schedules.

Therefore, we invite you to a private VIP reception at the Lima Restaurant & Lounge on Thursday August 11th for an evening of spirits, good food, and, most importantly, conversations with our executive staff on the event. Baltimore GP CEO Jay Davidson will present a detailed 3D Fly Over of the circuit, car corrals, race support infrastructure and facilities. GP Chief Operations Officer Pete Collier will provide a special preview of Ubiquity – our mobile application for enhanced fan experience providing up to the minute information about happenings at the track! We’ll review the latest events within ALMS and IndyCar, and cover highlights of the latest races in both series. If you’ve been following the IndyCar street/airport races at Toronto and Edmonton, we think you’ll agree with us that this is going to be an exciting and unpredictable race- especially with Power chasing Franchitti for the Championship.

The Grand Prix Race staff will be on hand to answer all your questions about the weekend – what VIP Hospitality is available, where to park, where to meet your fellow Alfa Romeo owners – and we’ll be able to assist you in purchasing any tickets, plots, or passes you still need to have the ultimate VIP experience at this exciting new event. Please join your fellow sports car enthusiasts for a unique evening of Grand Prix talk, some bench racing, and even a few raffles for VIP tickets and rides on the track. The LIMA Restaurant & Lounge is one of the hottest venues in DC, and we’ll have staff on hand to meet you at the door, get you into the party, and escort you to the owners private lounge for the reception. See you there!
