We have been invited in July by ATL car group

Here is some email traffic on Highlands, NC Motoring Festival in July. Kevin and Jay are in Hey Bill and Steve, I am in, and the wife says she will go to stay at Old Edwards. Bill I have a reasonably nice series 3 spider that I would like to attend with. I have done a few tours in the area and know it well. Pure suggestions is to have lunch one day at Cafe e-rel in Franklin, NC, good driving roads to get there. I also have several of the routes that we did if you are interested. KL Harper Sent: 2/5/2012 1:17:34 P.M. Eastern Standard Time Subj: Atlanta ALFA Club Invitation to Highlands, NC Motoring Festival Hi, Steve I'm the Newsletter Editor & Web Mechanic for AROC of Atlanta. We have received a special invitation from the organizers of the Highlands Motoring Festival in Highlands, NC to display in their Car Show this July as the featured Marque / Car Club. It occurred to us that it would be terrific if any nearby members of the Mid-Atlantic Chapter could join us in the ALFA Corral they will have for us. They have indicated that they can arrange a corral space for up to 35+ cars...our Atlanta Club turnout would normally be 10-15 cars, so the more the merrier! (One of your members, Jay Maveety, is an honorary member of our Chapter as well.) I have extended this invitation to the Tennessee Chapter Members to join us as well. The Festival dates are July 13-15, 2012. I've included below an overview from the Festival planner, Jim Pollan. Their website is: http://highlandsmotoringfestival.com/ which has photos & descriptions of last year's event. Would be a great backroads drive, get-together & chance to meet neighbor Alfisti at a really fun show. If any of your members are interested, please contact me or... Augie Cavalli, President: Jim Pollan, Festival Organizer: POLLANJ@BELLSOUTH.NET Jim will let us know at a later date the exact schedule & details for the 3-Day Event & we will inform him of the number of cars that will display. Ciao, Rick Andreoli www.arocatlanta.org From Jim Pollan: We are in the planning stages for the 2012 Highlands Motoring Festival and have plans to expand the event again this year. Briefly, we will have a cruise in Friday evening at the Highlands Historical Society. Current plans are to have entertainment, appetizers, beverages, and great cars at this event. Saturday will feature the car show and an event for the ladies in attendance. We did a ladies poker run featuring downtown merchants last year that was a big hit with both the ladies and the merchants. We will, of course, have entertainment, food and beverages, prizes, raffles, etc. as part of the car show. We will also feature the Bridgestone racing simulator, a Carrera track for the young, and, several other attractions during Saturday's events. That's not to ignore the over 125 collector cars that will be present or the over 3000 spectators that attended last year. Sunday we will have a non-timed road rally thru the beautiful mountains of North Carolina that also features a brunch and concluding awards ceremony. It's a fun event! Our committee has decided to feature a car club at this year's event. We have additional parking, approximately 35 spaces adjacent to the car show, that would be devoted to the featured club. Additional space is available if needed. Obviously, the featured club member cars would be exempt from our normal vehicle age restrictions. And, we will work with the designated club to develop awards or some form of recognition to be presented to those attending. =
