Mid-Atlantic Alfa Romeo Club Officer Elections
The By-Laws of the Mid-Atlantic Alfa Romeo Club call for election
of chapter officers each year. The past few years, the current officers and
board of directors have self-nominated and elected those
officers.
Back in the 1980s and 1990s, there was a regular election cycle
which began in October with the call for nominations, followed by a posting of
members running for office in the November chapter newsletter with a ballot for
voting. Due to poor response by the membership, the process was largely
abandoned in the late 1990s and 2000s.
Now that we have most of the members online through the Internet,
it is practical to return to the original election
procedure.
So, with this announcement, the floor is open for nominations for
President, Vice-President, Secretary and Treasurer.
Additionally, members who wish to serve on the board in one of the
capacities listed in the Alfa Advocate should indicate their willingness to
serve. Those unelected positions have been selected by the elected officials,
and include:
1. Area Representatives for Charlotte, Asheville, Triad,
Triangle and Hampton/Norfolk/Va Beach.
2. Membership
3. Webmaster
4. Newsletter Editor
5. Quartermaster
6. Special Events
7. Chief Scrutineer
8. Chapter Historian
9. Tech Guy
Please make sure that the person you nominate agrees to run for the
office. And please provide a brief biography introducing the nominee. The cutoff
for nominations will be November 10th. The ballot will be sent out
electronically with a place to indicate your vote for each position. Voting
results will be announced at the December Holiday Party. Votes will be verified
by Delloite Vote Validation, Inc. (just
kidding).
All those interested in serving in a non-elected role should advise
the newly elected officers.
