Ferrari has officially confirmed that Fernando Alonso will replace Kimi Raikkonen in its lineup from 2010, in a three-year deal. Alonso's base salary will be about $36 million per year for each of the next three seasons, or about $5 million less than Raikkonen was getting; however, it is believed that Ferrari had to pay somewhere in the neighborhood of $66 million to buy Raikkonen out of his contract for 2010.
