Drive to the Mountains - 02 August
Note from Amedeo at Charlotte Branch:
Next on the list is our planned Mountain Trip for Saturday August 2nd with lunch at the Bluffs restaurant on the Blue Ridge Parkway. Our meeting point will the BP in Roaring Gap known as the Pro Stop (green roof). If you are coming from Charlotte, take I-77 north to Elkin and then Highway 21 towards Sparta. As you approach Roaring Gap look for the post office and the BP is located soon after. Plan to be there between 11am and 11:30am. I have been told that from Pineville the trip should take about 1 hour and 45 minutes. If you are coming from Asheville it is your choice to meet us at the BP or the restaurant. By the way the Bluffs Lodge has two restaurants, one inside the Lodge and the other right on the parkway. It is the one on the parkway that we will have lunch. Please let me know as late as Friday Aug 1st if you plan to make the drive.
Here is the link of the restaurant. http://resorts.gordonsguide.com/bluffslodge/index.cfm
As usual please let me know that you are interested so that we can notify the restaurant how many to expect, as of now we have about 6 cars. If you lose this email (Mark) do not worry it will be repeated in my monthly newsletter."

Subject: Drive to Camden
Just checking, are you guys receiving my emails? I was wondering since it is Wednesday afternoon and have not received a single reply to join me this coming Saturday, although I did hear from a few by phone. This is what I have so far.
Myself of course, Mark Brummond, Barry Ward and Dick Hinman from Asheville, Ed Prytherche from Columbia (he must be there as we will be following his route), plus one member from the low country of South Carolina. This begs a question, what are you guys doing with your Spider? The weather looks great, the driving will be wonderful, the route is glorious, the food and drinks are free, what are you waiting for? It does not get much better than this. If this is not convertible driving time not sure what is and I do not even have a convertible.

Drive to Camden - 31 May
Note from Amedeo: Next Saturday please join us as we attempt to navigate the back roads of South Carolina ending up very near Camden at a country house of one of our member which has agreed to provide lunch and beverages for us travel weary individuals. We will gather at the first rest area immediately after crossing into South Carolina on I-77, obviously if you are coming from Charlotte. Please be there between 10am and 10:30am, if needed you can get gas, snack and what have you on Carowinds Blvd which is the first exit in SC. So far only two other members have either called me or email me that they will be participating. It is very important that we know how many are planning to join us and also if you have a significant other, wife, friend or all 3 with you. I will then notify Curtiss so that he can prepare for our arrival. I had heard that a couple of Alfisti from Charleston were thinking about joining us at Curtiss's place but nothing definitive as of yet.
Please let Amedeo know by no later than next Thursday if you will be attending. Email Amedeo at decame (at) gmail.com if you need additional info.
