After testing Ferrari's 2007 car eariler today Massa said, "When I was inside the car it was as if nothing had happened: I'm the same bastard as before," according to ANSA news agency. "Everything went well, I felt very good physically, it felt like the crash from July 25 had never occurred. I haven't had any eyesight problem and today I'd be ready to do not just one, but two races in a row. "Obviously, we need to respect the doctors' limitation as a precaution, but after getting in the car, I can say I'm back to what I was before the crash."

Massa same SOB
FOR SALE: 1977 Alfa Romeo Spider
FOR SALE: 1994 Alfa Romeo Spider Veloce
Unfortunately the time has come to part with my Alfa (my daughter's college tuition looms on the horizon). I purchased the car locally (Raleigh NC) from Peter Krause at Krause and England in May 2005. At the time it had about 72k miles on it and now it has about 84K. A new top was put on when I bought it. The oil has been changed at 5000 mile intervals with synthetic. All belts and rear brake pads were replaced in June 06. The master brake cylinder was replaced in May 08 and the slave clutch cylinder was replaced in June 08. The most recent service on the vehicle was June 08 and included: oil change, transmission fluid and rear transaxle fluid change and replacement with synthetics. Additionally, I put a new battery in this September.

Wait 'till next year.

Massa wrote in an online chat with fans on Ferrari's website: "I hope that I'll be back soon, but I also know that the best thing is that I'm coming back 100 percent at the start of the next season. My dream would be to race in Abu Dhabi, but the possibility is really, really low."

You can knock him out, but...
Felipe Massa received conditional approval from the FIA to test in Ferrari’s 2007 F-1 car. In-season testing is banned in Formula 1, but the FIA will allow Massa to test in Maranello. He is in Italy this week to use Ferrari's simulator for the first time since suffering a fractured skull at the Hungarian Grand Prix this past July. Massa drove a kart in Brazil last week for the first time since the accident.
"The stewards have considered this matter and have decided this does not represent a breach of the in-season testing regulations," an FIA spokesman said.
A source close to Massa said he has set his sights on racing in the final Grand Prix of the season, in Abu Dhabi on 1 November. "He would like to be back for the last race but that depends on further tests with the FIA doctor," said the source.

Ferrari: Alonso YES, Kimi NO!

Ferrari has officially confirmed that Fernando Alonso will replace Kimi Raikkonen in its lineup from 2010, in a three-year deal. Alonso's base salary will be about $36 million per year for each of the next three seasons, or about $5 million less than Raikkonen was getting; however, it is believed that Ferrari had to pay somewhere in the neighborhood of $66 million to buy Raikkonen out of his contract for 2010.
